Nodejitsu maintains over 300 open-source libraries with thousands of GitHub followers. We believe in the power of open-standards and open-source software. As an Open-Source Intern you will help maintain and improve these projects and their surrounding ecosystem of documentation, tutorials and community.

  • How to successfully manage open-source projects and releases

  • A truly unique understanding of open-source: community, support, and branding
  • Best practices for writing Node.js code, documentation, and unit tests

Responsibilities

  • Triage issues for Nodejitsu open-source projects
  • Improve documentation and test coverage for Nodejitsu open-source projects
  • Write open-source Node.js code

Requirements

  • Experience using Git and GitHub
  • 1-year of Node.js or Javascript programing experience
  • Strong written English and experience writing technical documentation

Preferred

  • Active member of the Node.js community
  • Experience with Nodejitsu Open Source projects: flatiron, hook.io, etc.
  • Author of existing Node.js modules published to npm
